Twitter will start implementing new rules today to suspend orders that promote hatred, invoke violence, and have inappropriate symbols and photos.
As announced in November, Twitter will begin to punish users whose photographs contain inappropriate characters, such as Nazi symbols, and those whose username or profile contain hate.
Twitter is in this way trying to fight against abuse and harassment. Users connected with rightists or Nazi movements were under the supervision of the company for causing racial tension, spreading false news, and attacking critics, primarily democrats. Earlier this year in Charlottesville, Virginia, a neo-Nazi congregation was organized just over Twitter.
That is exactly why Twitter will start implementing “cleanup” on December 18, which is why some users announced that they will switch to Gab, a social network that is friendly to the right.
Sharper politics is the result of pressure from users and regulators from around the world to reduce hate speech.
